Could a day be any sweeter?

Today was like a fairytale.
I went for a walk to the commons and hung out for a bit in my favorite tree. After a while I got a hankering for an ice cream. So I climbed down and walked to the other side where there was a little ice cream shop across the street where they make their own ice cream in store. On my way there, I was followed by two boys on skateboards playing the guitar. Words can't even describe how happy this made me. They followed at a comfortable distance right across the street. It was magical.
On my way back to my original spot, ice cream in hand, I passed a mother and her young son (about 3) pretending to play baseball on the diamond. It was the sweetest thing to see as she pretended to throw the ball and then  'watch it soar through the air' after he swung his arms to hit a homerun.
I made it back to my spot and people watched for about an hour after that and then made my way to the local market to buy some items for dinner and a bunch of flowers.
I don't know how life could be any sweeter.

After getting back home I was preparing my lunch when I stumbled across this lovely sight

(Lunch was multigrain toast with tomato, spinach, avacado, and a fried egg. Yummm)

I hope you are all having a lovely day

The other day I went out for a walk in the city and came across this apple tree on a hill.
It was amazing. With such lovely shade and apples all over the ground, I almost forgot where I was. I didn't have my camera on me so I just snapped a few photos on my iphone.
And one of my crazy hair at the end.

Montreal

I just got back from a weekend in Montreal.
I went to Osheaga (three day music festival). It was AMAZING!!

Here are a few pictures I took with my iphone
(more pictures from my real camera coming in a few days)

Day 1

We got off the train and found our hostel. Grabbed lunch and headed over to the island.

On day 1 we saw: Of Monster and Men - Gary Clark Jr - Florence + the Machine - Sigur Ros - MGMT. (For sure. We saw some others in passing that I don't remember)
We met - Of Monsters and Men!
The closed the evening with fireworks during MGMTs set. Not sure if they were intended for Osheaga, but we could see them and it was magical.

Day 2

We decided to do a little shopping.
We went to breakfast then continued on our way.
We stopped at a few vintage shops -Kitch 'n' Swell, Rokokonut, Eva B-
Eva B is what is pictured above. It was insane in there. Three floors of shopping. Product going outside on decks.  A basement dedicated to halloween costumes. That pile of clothes? Everything in that pile was a dollar. Plus it was also a cafe.
Then we headed over to the island.
We saw:   Yound the Giant, Yeasayer, Brand New, Garbage, Feist, and Snoop Dogg
We met - Yukon Blonde

Day 3

It rained on day 3. So I didn't take many photos on my phone.
It was a jam packed day. We grabbed some breakfast and ponchos and headed on our way bright and early. I had sprained my ankle the evening before so it was a slower paced day.

We saw:  Chappo, Zeus, Zola Jesus (before she got shutdown because her stage flooded :() Passion Pit, Austra, the Shins, Bloc Party, and the Black keys.

Day 4
(last day)

Best breakfast. They take any fruit you want and turn it into a drink for you. Amazing.
We did the most of our shopping on this day then hopped back on the train to come home.

The trip was amazing.
Have any of you been to Montreal? Any suggestions on places to go or things to see for the next trip? I'd love to hear any ideas.

Spur of the moment

I had a spur of the moment mini photoshoot with my roomate a couple weeks ago.
Not much to say about it. I had just finished doing press shots for a friend and she was looking epic. So I figured hey, why not? She was willing. This is the result.
The hat she's wearing is passed down to me from my grandmother. Thats pretty cool.

We're all witches beneath the skin

Last month I got together with my friend Stephanie to do a witchy little photoshoot. We drove to the outskirts of the city and found a wonderful historical site that was perfect for this shoot.
After we got her all dressed up we headed down to look for the perfect backround. It didn't take long to find. Right inside the gates was a creepy little tunnel complete with stone stairs, water puddles and spiderwebs with a perfectly faint lighting.

We got a few odd looks from other tourists when we stepped out of the jeep/changing room. But she completely owned it.  It was a really fun shoot and she was great to work with!
